There are 600,000 villages in India. Nearly three-quarters of India’s population of 1.2 billion people live in its vast rural expanses. Yet today, Indian villagers are struggling to find their place in their country’s growing economic prosperity. As India rises, its villages are in danger of being left behind. Filmed in April of 2008, this Stanley Foundation video explores this issue and its implications for India’s rise.
