On April 21-22, the Stanley Foundation cosponsored an international nuclear dialogue in St. Petersburg, Russia, in cooperation with several Russian organizations: Green Cross International, the Public Council of Rosatom, and the Russian Academy of Science.
Over two days, approximately 100 participants—the vast majority of whom were Russian—discussed nuclear issues of shared concern between the two countries, including advancing nuclear weapons control and disarmament, strengthening the ongoing cleanup of the nuclear weapon legacies of the Cold War, encouraging nonproliferation and counterproliferation worldwide, and investigating the future of nuclear energy programs. |
